In 1900 Mr. Edward F. Searles of Methuen, in the county of Essex, Mass., gave to our town a high school, and on the deed was a Claus, if the property was ever used for any other purpose than a school, then it would return to Mr. Searles heirs.

recently I presented a copy of Mr.. Searles deed to our selectmen informing them regarding this deed, as recently the town voted to sell this property, as it was voted to build new schools.

I'd greatly appreciate any help regarding this so I can get in touch with anyone who might be an heir of Mr. Searles' estate. I truly feel we should keep Mr. Searles lovely old school, and if there are any heirs it should be up to them, not our town to sell the property.

My presentation at our Selectmen's meeting was reported in the Berkshire Eagle newspaper in Pittsfield. Mr. Edward F. Searles also built a castle here in Great Barrington, and when he returned to live in Methuen, Mass.., he also built another castle there.

I sincerely hope perhaps you can give me any lead to help me solve this serious problem. I'm a member of the Great Barrington Historical Society.

Sincerely

I know he lived in Wakefield in 1958-66 at 6 Lakeview Ave. also in Winthrop and Nahant but do not know the time period for those. Some records show Vera B. as still residing in Nahant which isn't correct.

I am trying to find where my grandfather, John Isaac Bussell, is buried. I know he arrived in Salisbury, Mass in 1628. In 1640 he moved to Hampton NH. I believe he died there in 1683. I would like to know where his son William lived and is buried also. I believe William lived in Woburn Mass and was a Captain around 1679. He was possibly a Representative. His birth was 1650(?) and his dath was June 21,1699. He married Ruth Stileman on Sept. 5, 1687.

I live in Cookeville, TN and have dead ended. I would like to visit their gravesites when I visit in the fall. Any suggestions or info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank-you

I am looking for any descendants of William and Annie J. davenport. They were born in VA and lived in Haverhill, MA from the early 1900's to shortly before 1930. William was born about 1878 and Annie in 1881. after living in Haverhill, they returned to their birthplace of Gloucester, VA and began a chicken farm. They had four (I believe) children in Haverhill. While in Haverhill, William worked as a chauffer and two of his children worked in a shoe factory. i would appreciate any reply.

Thanks

Bartholomew Corwin born 1693 in Salem ,MA was the son of Sheriff George Corwin. His father died in 1696 and his mother died in 1700. His uncle Dr. Samuel Gedney was charged with his care but he died about 1709 or earlier. One source has Bartholomew going to Rhode Island to join his uncle Samuel Corwin and another has him going to Winthrop neck where most of his Winthrop relatives were living on their plantation at New London CT in 1717, Bartholomew sold the family on Washington St. in Salem and moved to Hunterdon Co. in New Jersey. Does anyone have any information on his where abouts after the death of Samuel Gedney or why he went to New Jersey?
