Do you have a phone number and a person who I might contact at this cemetery in Methuen to obtain historical records?

Barker Family of Rowley?

In tracing the Mat[t]hew Barker family of Nova Scotia, one tip suggested they may have moved north from Essex County MA. They may have been part of the 17th century settlers from Rowley England. Are there any lists of that group or records that far back?

These are apparently NOT the Edward Barkers from Rhode Island, who also ended up in the same area of Nova Scotia. However, they MAY also have been Loyalists. Is there any list of absconding loyalists?

Philip McKenzie

I am researching a Philip McKenzie. Married in Essex County on July 13, 1777. I am looking for a book he was mentioned in titled "The McKenzie Family in Topsfield" by Alfred McKenzie. His wife's name was Susanna Hobbs. I am trying to trace him back to Scotland we know he came into Boston on a British ship after being kidnapped by the sailors> We don't know the name of the ship, but do know his brother was an officer on the ship and later died in Africa. If we could find the brother's name, we could continue our trace, any information would be helpful.

Titus Gordon Vespasian SIMONS

I am searching the birthplace , parents and first wife of Titus Gordon Vespasian SIMONS. He is my late husband's ancestor. Titus was born in MA on 15 Apr 17773. It has been suggested to me that he may have been a descendant of William Simons of Salem. This may be, but I have yet to find proof.

Titus was a well - educated man, perhaps schooled at a university. He was a doctor of medicine and a school teacher. After leaving MA, he may have lived in NY for a time. Nothing is known of Titus' first wife, except that they produced one son, Solomon Austin SIMONS. Was Titus' first wife an Austin by birth? I think this is a likely possibility. By 1797 Titus was in Warren Co., PA, where he married his second wife, Sylvia JACKSON, daughter of Daniel Jackson.

Titus died 13 Dec 1851 in Kendallville, Noble Co., IN

I have been trying to find his birthplace and parents for many years. Surely there is some record of him and his parents. they were obviously well-educated, well-read people. They chose to give him the name Vespasian, a name only educated people would have known. Vespasian was the name of a Roman emperor. His other given name, Gordon, may have been his mother's maiden name.

I hope someone out there can help me complete my late husband's SIMONS lineage.

Thank You!
