Abiel GARDNER
Looking for Mother and / or Father and wife of Abiel Gardner born about 1770-1775.
He is listed in the 1760 U.S. Census, Salem, Essex, MA. In the 1800 U.S. Census, his name is spelled Abel, he is still living in Salem, Essex, MA.
In 1804 he purchased land from the Holland Company in Buffalo, NY. In the 1810 Census he is living in Niagara County, Buffalo, NY. In the 1820 Census he is in Niagara County, Concord, NY. I believe it was a name change in New York, not a move.
In 1830, he is in Ashford, Livingston Co.,NY with his wife, and one child living with him. He is living next door to his son, Smith Gardner and Smith's wife, Orilla Stephenson, Smith's father-in-law, Harry Stephenson and Harvey's brother, Herman Stephenson.
All of these people left for Ohio but Aibel and his family did not show up on the 1840 Census.

Shackleford
Our family has had a mystery missing link on my paternal side going back over a hundred years. My grandfather never knew it was a child, but the couple he thought were his "parents" were really his grandparents and his "sister" was really his mother.
We have always wondered who his real father was and what our last name actually should have been.
My grandfather was born in 1898 and was named Harold Walter Shackleford. His sister (actually his birth mother) went by Bert Shackleford which was probably short for Roberta or maybe Bertha. She never married. I believe he was born in Essex, County, MA. I know he had a brother (who would have actually been his uncle) named Charles Shackleford who died in the flu epidemic. I believe he had another brother / uncle as well. Would his birth certificate say what his real fathers name was? Or any other adoption records that his maternal grandparents, the Shacklefords, might have had to fill out in order to be his legal guardians?
My grandfather, Harold Walter Shackleford married Frances Keely and they had one son, Frederick Charles Shackleford, my father, now 74 years old. My maiden name was Charlene Frances Shackleford. But of course Shackleford was the maternal last name. My grandfather, Harold Walter Shackleford, died in 1965 in California.
Any information you can find on his family would be appreciated.

Walter Storrow RIGBY
Searching for information about my Grandfather Walter Storrow Rigby born in 1861 possibly in Ireland but settled in Methuen and Lawrence around 1889. In 1891 he was living at 10 Annis Street Methuen.
I am trying to find out any information, e.g. his wife's name
