Surname: Gerry/Geare/Geary
Query submitted by: Susan O'Briant
Primary Goals: To share information, To learn more about relatives
Time Period: 1700's or earlier
The Essex Geneaological Society published an article entitled "Gerry(Garey, Geere, Geary) Families of Essex & Middlesex Counties" in 2000. I obtained a copy of it from Greg Lange at the Haverhill Library some years ago. My ancestor, William Geare, and some of his descendants were in the article and it filled in 5 generations of my family.
I am now applying for membership to the DAR and they require that I provide the Title Page of the publication with author and date it was published. Can you mail me a copy of the Title Page, or can I stop by the Library to copy it?

Also, William Geare's death is said to be 25 Mar, 1673 in Wenham. Is there any way of finding out where he & his wife, Triphenia are buried?

I'm seeking the definition of "morocco" as occupation in Peabody. I'm assuming this was in the leather field as it appears frequently for folks who lived near the tanneries. Any help would be appreciated. This will help me to fill in some blanks about my great-grandparents.
