I am the Associate Archivist at Johnson C. smith University. Dr. Henry A. Hill graduated from our University in 1936. He was the founder and president of Riverside Research laboratories, and the first African American to head the American Chemical Society. He received his doctor's degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1942. He was married in 1943 and had one child. He died March 17, 1979. His mailing address in 1976 - 1977 was 300 Neck road, Haverhill, MA 01830. Samuel married Martha Giddings on 18 June 1761 in Ipswich and they had 6 children including a son, Samuel Giddings (1764-1 Feb. 1826) who married Martha Goodhue 30 November 1793. I am looking for any clues that would help identify Samuel Giddings parents, date of birth, etc. Any thoughts appreciated. At the time of her mother's probated will (December 22, 1897), Mary and James SHARP (E) lived at 56 Elmwood Ave, Lynn, MA. In her brother, Hugh DANAHY'S obit (April 28,1924) she was listed as living in Boston, MA. In February, 1932, she was noted in her brother John's obit as living in Swampscott, MA. November 1944, the obit of her sister, Julia Ann Murphy, Mrs. Mary Sharp only was listed at Lynn, MA. Also Mr. and Mrs. Jack Butterworth was noted as living in Lynn, MA. Perhaps her daughter ? married Jack Butterworth. Hearsay, she had a daughter Betty Sharp Osgood, age 79, Salem, MA (1982) I am looking for any information on Mary SHARP (E) and family.
