If a family lived in Groveland, which elementary or high schools would the children have attended from 1906 through 1920? Are year books available for the schools? I have already searched the Haverhill High School yearbooks 1914-1919. Thank you.

Hello, I am looking for information on my 5th G Grandfather, John 'the weaver' Stewart. He died on 11/04/1784 in Rowley, Essex, Mass. In a book about Warner, NH it states that John came from Northern Ireland (family from Scotland prior to that) and settled in Haverhill in 1750 at about 20 years of age (whether he left N Ireland at 20 or got to Haverhill at 20, I'm not clear). He was married to Margaret Gilmore in 1754 (I believe in Essex Co). They had a son, John, in 1756 or 1758 who later moved to NH. John (the weaver) Stewart had a previous wife Susannah Mitchell who died in 1749. There are some conflicting accounts as to whether this marriage was in Northern Ireland or in Essex County. She may have been born in Haverhill in 1701 and they may have been married in 1735. There is 1 account stating that John settled in Haverhill in 1738, "about 5 miles eastward of the station in Salem". Another account states that John landed in Salem and lived in Rowley and Haverhill. Its also possible that John left N Ireland w/ his brothers, James the Farmer and Robert. And, finally, there is also a note that his (or their) family had started leaving N. Ire in 1725. Is there any information you have or can help me find, to help prove or shed light on any of this? Did ships land at Salem directly? Is there ANY chance of getting ship names/ports/passenger lists (I haven't found one on ancestry)? Are there historical books, documents or records dating that far back that might have these names? Is there a chance of seeing if there was a Stewart homestead or land 5 miles east of the station in Salem?

I put in a query on Sat, 12/15/12. Since then I read through some information I found (Stewart Clan Magazine from the 1920s) and in that, it says that John Stewart first appeared in the Essex Co court records in Salem 1731. It also says he traveled to MA from N. Ireland with his brother, Thomas, a doctor and that Thomas appears to have gone to NY upon arriving. It says that his will was probated on 4 Jan 1785 in Salem. Does this information help to clear things up? How can I get a copy of the court records, especially the will, that are mentioned? Can someone copy them for me? Another note in the magazine stated that his will still has his seal on it. Is it possible to get a picture of the seal? I was going to see if there are any church records available but my google search has failed me - do you know what church would be the best place to start? That would have been there in the 1730s and that would be close to Rowley, Haverhill and/or Salem? They would most likely have been Presbyterian. I'm also not sure where to look for a grave, supposedly he died in Rowley. Again, any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

My Scottish ancestors settled in Andover. My grandfather, Alexander Renny was born around 1892-94 in Arbroath and died in Andover around 1935. His wife was Anne (Walker) Renny and she was a house cleaner born in 1890 in Arbroath (Scotland) and died in Lawrence, Essex in 1979. Their children were William, Alexander, James, Helen, Peggy and John. They lived on 2 Stirling St in 1930, Andover. I am trying to find out more history on my grandparents in Andover. I also believe that William and Margaret Renny (buried in Spring grove are related somehow. Any information is greatly appreciated!
